This hand or mouth blown art glass vase is a lovely sapphire blue with three clear 'raspberry' prunts. A prunt or pruntie describes the blobs of molten glass that were applied to the body of the vase while it was still hot. The vase, or rose bowl, has a five-crimp rim and a smooth pontil. It was made during the Art Nouveau period, circa 1890-1910. Diameter: 4½ inches; height: 3¾ inches. There are a few faint, short scratches on the widest part of the body, and a small 3mm dimple (done at the time of manufacture) about one-half inch from one of the prunts. Otherwise, this vase is in excellent condition! It is unmarked.
